Purchasing Administrator

Salary:28,000 per year (depending on experience)

This position would be ideal for anyone with previous Administration experience, seeking to learn and develop their skills within a new industry. However, experience within steel or purchasing would be advantageous.
We are a leading supplier in the steel industry, delivering over 300,000 tonnes of material annually to clients across various sectors. We are seeking a detail-oriented and organisedPurchasing Administratorto join our team at our Stourbridge location. This role offers the chance to work in a dynamic environment, supporting the purchasing department and ensuring the smooth procurement of materials.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and process purchase orders for steel materials and other goods.
- Liaise with suppliers to confirm order details, delivery schedules, and pricing.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing agreements, and supplier contracts.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with the production team to meet supply needs.
- Handle supplier communications, ensuring timely and efficient resolution of any issues.
- Assist in negotiating pricing and terms with suppliers to achieve cost efficiencies.
- Track and update purchase orders and deliveries, ensuring compliance with company standards.
- Support the purchasing team with administrative tasks, including filing, data entry, and reporting.
Key Requirements:
- Previous experience in a purchasing or administrative role (experience in the steel industry is a plus).
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with suppliers and internal teams.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with purchasing software is beneficial.
- Ability to multitask and manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to work.
