JHE & Partners are delighted to be working with a fantastic, long-established Brighouse business who are looking to recruit an Accounts Assistant on a permanent basis. My client needs someone who is comfortable doing credit control and is not afraid of picking up the phone as the role will be heavily focused on managing/chasing new and existing accounts. My client will also consider a candidate from an administrative or customer service background if you have some finance experience.

This is fully office-based working 9am-5pm with a 30 minute lunch. Working in a team of 3 and reporting into the Head of Finance, this is a busy role working for a supportive and friendly team.

Responsibilities:

  • Credit Control - managing a high volume of accounts chasing debt
  • Opening new credit accounts
  • Ensuring payments due are collected within agreed timescales
  • Liaising with other areas of the business regarding any queries, in order to resolve and in turn speed up the payment process
  • Communicating with customers, maintaining/strengthening existing relationships
  • Issuing statements
  • Posting and allocating of all sales ledger receipts
  • General maintenance of the sales ledger, keeping records and credit limits up to date
  • Keeping accurate and up to date records of all debt chasing
  • Reconciliation of Trade counter Cash & Card receipts to ledger
  • Covering purchase ledger when required
