Role: Senior CE&I Engineer
Contract: 6 Month Contract (Outside IR35)
Location: Huddersfield
Our client has a requirement for a Senior CE&I Engineer, who will be required to work on a contract basis in Huddersfield.
Role Purpose:
To provide expert CE&I engineering services for high-impact projects across the Chemicals, Pharmaceuticals, and Oil & Gas industries.
Job Role Responsibilities:
- Electrical Systems: Perform LV fault level calculations, protection selection, earthing design, lightning protection design, equipment selection, and cable sizing. Awareness of arc flash risk assessment.
- Main Electrical Equipment: Specify and select LV switchgear, motor control centers, distribution boards, motors, luminaires, and ensure compliance with relevant standards.
- Electrical Installations: Apply BS 7671 standards, utilize tools like Amtech, and prepare detailed installation documentation (e.g., cable routing, lighting design).
- Explosive Atmospheres: Implement ATEX protection concepts (e.g., intrinsic safety, flameproof) and prepare descriptive system documents.
- Instrumentation: Specify and select industrial instruments and valves; ensure awareness of analytical instruments.
- Control Systems: Specify hardware for PLC, SCADA, and DCS systems; produce URS and review FDS and FAT documentation.
- Instrumentation & Control Systems Installation: Follow BS 6739 standards for installations and prepare related documentation.
- Communication Systems: Implement industrial networks and transmission media, including Profinet, BACnet, and fiber optics.
- Safety Systems: Apply Functional Safety Standards (e.g., BS 61508, BS 61511); TUV certification desirable.
- Sustainability: Implement sustainable engineering solutions where applicable.
- Site Work: Conduct surveys, oversee installations, and participate in commissioning activities.
- Regulatory Framework: Ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations, Electricity at Work Regulations, and CDM standards.
- Commercial: Estimate equipment/installation costs and perform bid adjudication.
Experience / Skills / Knowledge / Qualifications:
- Education: Degree, HND, or HNC in Electrical/Electronic or Control/Instrumentation Engineering.
- Professional Certification: Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status (preferred).
- Proficient in AutoCAD (2D and Electrical) and Microsoft Office tools.
- Strong leadership skills in multi-disciplinary team environments.
