TPF Recruitment is delighted to be working with a highly regarded independent accountancy firm in Eastbourne, currently seeking an experienced and organised Accounting and Tax PA to the Directors. This is a rare opportunity to take on a varied and rewarding role, supporting senior leadership in both technical and client-facing capacities.

This firm is known for its strong presence in the charity and not-for-profit sector, alongside its tax consultancy services to a wide range of businesses. The role will provide direct support to the Directors and senior team, involving high-level accounting and tax work, client communication, and supervisory responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist Directors with accounting and tax-related tasks and correspondence

  • Conduct and prepare research on complex tax and accounting queries

  • Finalise statutory accounts, tax returns, and other compliance deliverables

  • Communicate with clients and liaise proactively with HMRC and other government bodies

  • Oversee and support the firm’s financial bureau and internal accounting team

  • Support and guide senior staff across both accounting and audit assignments

  • Contribute to audit work where required, particularly around tax and compliance

  • Attend and lead meetings with clients, acting as a key point of contact

RequirementsRequirements:
  • ACA or ACCA qualified, with a minimum of 6 years' experience within practice

  • Strong technical knowledge of direct tax legislation and compliance

  • Experience preparing and reviewing financial statements for SMEs

  • A sound understanding of accounting software packages and auditing standards

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Strong organisational abilities with great attention to detail

  • Proactive, adaptable, and comfortable working both independently and within a team
