Key ResponsibilitiesAs a Junior Bookkeeper, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Financial Recordkeeping:

    • Maintain accurate records of financial transactions.
    • Process accounts payable and receivable.
    • Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and other financial statements.
  • Payroll Support:

    • Assist in preparing payroll documentation and ensuring timely payments.
  • Reporting & Analysis:

    • Generate financial reports for management.
    • Support the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
  • Compliance:

    • Assist with VAT returns and other regulatory filings.
    • Ensure financial practices adhere to relevant laws and company policies.
  • Administrative Support:

    • Manage invoices, receipts, and other financial documents.
    • Respond to financial inquiries from colleagues or vendors.

Qualifications & Skills

Essential:

  • Basic bookkeeping knowledge and familiarity with financial principles.
  • Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks) and MS Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Desirable:

  • Previous experience in bookkeeping, finance, or a related field.
  • Understanding of the technology consultancy industry.
  • AAT qualification or working towards a similar certification.
