Associate Director - PR

Commercially astute PR leader required to take on this newly created, Associate Director role with a fantastic b2b communications agency with a focus on food, drink and FMCG accounts.

This is an important recruit to enable the current senior leaders to focus on succession and planning for the future. There’s a huge opportunity to take on the role of Deputy Managing Director during 2025/26, so we are looking for a highly motivated and very experienced PR agency leader.

You’ll be a natural business leader who’s worked in a leadership position previously and managed FMCG clients and large budgets.

You may have run large a large FMCG business in the past and also been responsible for the PR alongside that.

Managing a nationwide team of consultants, you’ll be excited and motivated by developing team skills, and nurturing talent. The team has a group of PR professionals who are in the early stages of their career and who need lots of training, development and general care and attention, so it’s important that you love that part of your job already and have a genuine interest in developing new talent.

Additionally, you’ll be laser focused on the bottom line and have natural and well-developed new business, client development and business management skills.

Experience in food and drink/FMCG, both trade and consumer is essential, but with some b2b communications focus too.

One day a week in East Sussex, the rest can be remote although it would be preferred that the candidate naturally and willingly wants to spend more time with the team, either in London or Sussex

Generous salary (will be disclosed during the conversations), super benefits (including VERY flexible start and finish times).

Moxie and Mettle is a UK-based recruitment company; our clients are based in the UK too.

Although many clients offer remote working as an option, there is still a need to regularly visit company offices and clients in the UK. Therefore, applications from overseas are unlikely to be successful, unless applicants already have plans to be in the UK several times a month/year to facilitate meetings with both the teams and clients.
