Tony Alan Recruitment currently has a brand new and fantastic job opportunity for a Finance Business Partner to join a large, established and well-known business in the Brighton area on a permanent basis.

The Finance Business Partner will take a leading role in the capital projects team. You will have responsibility for financial management and control of a portfolio of capital projects and will provide financial reporting and management information and will be a key contact on all project finance matters.

Your duties will include:

  • To provide finance business partnering support
  • To support the development of Business Cases and strategic and operational financial plans and to provide financial support and expertise in the delivery of capital projects and programmes
  • Identify and propose options and financial solutions to deliver improved value of money
  • Provide objective challenge to spending and income plans and take a proactive role in looking for opportunities to deliver projects more effectively and efficiently
  • Ensure that emerging initiatives and proposals are thoroughly tested and supported by business cases. Support the senior team by providing objective and constructive challenge in the development of options and financial models
  • Ensure the effective flow of management information to and from the key stakeholders, to include analysis and evaluation of such information. Maintain systemised project financial records and data to form the basis of analysis and reporting to management
  • Supporting the formulation and delivery of financial strategy in Capital Projects, to meet objectives
  • Actively manage stakeholders, delivering value for money for the University in all areas of responsibility
  • Building and improving excellent financial management literacy and practice across the capital programme
  • Scoping requirements and diagnosing issues through analysis and effective listening. Questioning and assisting project leaders in developing financial strategies and plans and providing oversight of delivery of those plans

Key requirements:

  • Ideally you will be a fully qualified accountant or studying towards your ACA/ACCA/CIMA or relevant experience
  • Proven experience in a similar role
  • Strong Excel skills
  • The ability and experience to communicate effectively with the capital projects team, finance management and project stakeholders of all levels and on a broad range of financial matters.
  • Experience in the use of Financial Planning analytics tools such as IBM Planning Analytics
