Grafton Banks Finance are working with a locally well-established commercial organisation based in Brighton, East Sussex to recruit a Finance Manager on a full time permanent basis.

Reporting into the UK Financial Controller and managing a small team you will be responsible for the Management Accounts, Liaising with Auditors, budgets, budget monitoring, the transactional side of finance and the general smooth running of the companies’ finances.  

This is a full-time permanent job working predominantly in office Monday – Friday.

Duties and Responsibilities will include:

  • Monthly Management Accounts (within agreed deadlines)
  • Variance analysis and commentary
  • Balance sheet control and monthly reconciliations
  • Deferred income, prepayment, accruals, payroll and depreciation journals
  • Budgeting and Cashflow
  • Budget and forecast preparation and budget monitoring
  • Cashflow forecasting
  • Support budget holders in cost control and expenses planning
  • Operational duties - hands on and line managing finance team
  • Credit control
  • Purchase and nominal ledgers transactions
  • Monthly payroll processing and account reconciliations
  • Daily banking and bank reconciliation
  • Capex and fixed asset register
  • Commission processing & payment (if required)
  • Liaising with auditors, bank, and tax and other authorities as required
  • Support with UK and Group projects.
  • Ongoing review of internal controls and improvement to the financial aspects

The successful candidate will be with AAT Qualified, QBE, or Part Qualified ACA, ACCA, CIMA with solid practical working experience within a busy finance function. You will need to be proficient in Microsoft packages including Excel, Outlook and have experience of working with accounting packages such as Sage, Xero etc. Excellent communication skills both verbal and written are essential to communicate effectively and professionally.
