Quantity Surveyor - Planned Maintenance - Social Housing - Brighton

 

Quantity Surveyor required to work with leading property services contractor in Brighton. Our client specialises in delivering planned and reactive refurbishment works to social housing stock for Local Authorities and Housing Associations across the South of England. They're currently delivering a long term based out of their Brighton office, and due to the growth of the team, they are seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join their existing commercial team. Example responsibilities for the Quantity Surveyor below. 

 

  • Cost Estimation and Budgeting – Prepare cost estimates, manage budgets, and forecast project expenses.
  • Tendering and Procurement – Oversee tendering, evaluate bids, and negotiate contracts with subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Cost Control and Financial Reporting – Monitor project costs, provide financial reports, and manage cost variances.
  • Contract Administration – Manage contracts, process variations, and ensure timely payments.
  • Site Visits and Inspections – Conduct site visits to monitor progress, address issues, and ensure project specifications are met.
  • Client Liaison – Maintain communication with clients, providing cost advice and updates on project performance.
  • Risk Management – Identify and mitigate financial and operational risks.
  • Compliance – Ensure adherence to building regulations, statutory requirements, and health and safety standards.
  • Value Engineering – Propose cost-saving measures while maintaining quality.
  • Final Accounts and Closeout – Prepare and finalise accounts, ensuring project handover and financial closeout.
