Learning Support Assistants - Supporting SEN Students

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with special educational needs (SEN)?
We are looking for dedicated, empathetic, and experienced Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) to join our team in providing tailored support to students with a range of SEN in a vibrant, inclusive school in Brighton.
About the Role:
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with children with special educational needs, providing one-to-one or small group support in the classroom. Your role will involve:
- Supporting students with a range of learning, emotional, and physical needs to help them access the curriculum
- Assisting with the development of individualized learning plans and adapting resources to meet students' needs
- Encouraging independence, building confidence, and promoting positive behaviour
- Working alongside teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals to ensure the best outcomes for students
- Providing personal care and assistance where necessary, in line with students' needs and care plans
- Observing, tracking, and reporting on students' progress and behaviour
- Promoting a nurturing, inclusive, and safe learning environment
What We Are Looking For:
- Experience working with children with SEN, either in a school or similar setting (preferred but not essential)
- A patient, compassionate, and adaptable approach to working with children
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
- An understanding of the challenges faced by children with SEN and a commitment to supporting their educational and emotional development
- An understanding of safeguarding procedures and a commitment to creating a safe, inclusive learning environment
- Qualifications in Special Educational Needs, Childcare, or a related field (preferred but not essential)
