Role Overview

We have a number of opportunities for experienced EIA consultants to join our nationwide team specialising in EIA infrastructure. Sat within the UK's largest planning consultancy, this is a fantastic opportunity to join a diverse and growing team significantly progressing your career. 

The role will involve close working with Directors and Associate Directors in the National Infrastructure Planning team presently based in London, Bournemouth, Brighton, Leeds and Manchester and from other Savills offices throughout the UK. 

Key Responsibilities

• Assist Directors/Associate Directors in driving key projects forward. • EIA co-ordination (Infrastructure and TCPA Regs). The flexibility to work on residential development that is subject to EIA • GIS management.• Take responsibility for projects early stages to completion. • Coordination and quality control of specialist consultants’ reports. • Write clear and concise reports and chapters, interpreting data and making proportionate, effective design and mitigation advice. • Contribute to and help maintain Savills IEMA EIA Quality Mark. • Contribute to emerging EOR and digital reporting.• Liaise and negotiate with statutory bodies, LPA officers, consultee organisations and third parties.• Supervise and mentor junior colleagues.• Ensure compliance with relevant environmental legislation.• Stay abreast of case law and emerging guidance.• Project Management/appreciation of deadline driven nature of NSIP process and importance of appropriate responses. • Maintain an awareness of market conditions and the impact of government policies.Key Skills

• A self starter with proven organisational and project management abilities and strong people management skills.• Understanding of the overall NSIP process and demonstrable experience of its key stages (eg pre-application, application/EIA, examination).• IEMA Practitioner working towards Chartership, or Chartered, with 3+ years’ experience as an EIA specialist. • Strong verbal, numerical and report writing skills. • Excellent organisational skills – prioritising and working to deadlines. • A ‘can do’, hands-on team player. • Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills. • Self-motivated and proactive. • Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, PowerPoint and Excel. • Leadership attributes. • Strategic approach to problem solving.• Driving licence.Team Overview

Savills Environment & Infrastructure was established in 2021 with a focus on infrastructure projects. Based in our planning division we support our colleagues and clients with the challenges of consenting essential infrastructure, with a primary target sector of renewables and net zero, including carbon capture, wind, solar and hydrogen. We work closely with Savills Earth, our specialist sustainability division, which includes experts from Engineering & Design Consultancy, Property Management, Energy Consultancy, Social Value, Energy Procurement, Environmental Economics and Research.

The team has a number of existing appointments on Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects (NSIPs) across various project sectors including CCUS, hydrogen, renewables, water, waste water, rail freight, power transmission, defence and ports. We have a strong history of advising on NSIPs, DNSs, Section 36 projects and similar, including conventional TCPA projects, in the wind, solar, CCGT, energy from waste, and nuclear sectors.
