Winston Churchill.  Sheridan Maine is delighted to be partnering with a well-known brand to recruit a Management Accountant on a 9-month fixed-term contract.  Working on a hybrid basis from their head office on the outskirts of Bristol, you will play a key role in ensuring the company remains financially strong to support its ambitious expansion plans, while upholding the accuracy and integrity of both statutory and management reporting.Your responsibilities as the Management Accountant will include:
  • Prepare accurate financial statements, management accounts, and analysis for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Oversee period-end processes, including journals, accruals, prepayments, and balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Provide commentary on financial performance, analysing variances against budgets and responding to queries from operations.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and maintenance of financial controls, ensuring the integrity of systems and reporting.
  • Manage the Fixed Asset Register, oversee capital expenditure treatment, and support year-end capital allowances analysis for tax purposes.
  • Oversee VAT processes, including quarterly returns, reconciliations, and guidance on VAT treatment across departments.
  • Supervise and support junior finance team members, ensuring tasks are completed to a high standard.
  • Contribute to the year-end statutory audit process and maintain compliance with accounting policies and procedures.
  • Drive continuous improvement across financial processes, delivering efficiencies and enhanced reporting.
To be considered for the role of Management Accountant:
  • Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) or Qualified by Experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a management accounting role.
  • Strong analytical skills and excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
