Senior Audit Manager Job Vacancy

A leading and modern accountancy firm is looking for a Senior Audit Manager to join their team in Bristol and we are delighted to be tasked with helping them find the very best candidates. The role will suit someone looking to be an integral part of a team, primarily responsible for audit services to an extensive portfolio of clients and excited to be supported to further develop their career.

With senior leadership responsibilities for a large audit department at a firm providing audit services at the highest level to clients internationally, this role is suitable for auditors with significant management experience, enhanced client relationship skills and a high-level leadership vision.

You will be ACA, ACCA, or CA qualified, with extensive audit management experience in?an accountancy practice and you will be happy to work autonomously and to manage an extensive portfolio of audit clients across a wide range of industries and geographical locations.

Job Purpose

  • Oversee the workflow of the audit team at the highest level
  • Mentor junior managers?and support with their learning and development
  • Monitor client deadlines and ensure these are met
  • Able to work alongside Directors and Partner and support with company growth
  • Target setting and department budgeting
  • Ability to identify services that will add value to your portfolio of clients
  • Adept and experienced in networking to promote the department
  • Overseeing the audit team and championing the firm’s values within the team
  • Provide professional client-facing communication skills
  • Set an example for the team as a natural senior leader

The Successful Applicant

  • ACA, ACCA, or CA qualified with extensive experience within practice
  • Considerable experience of delivering audit and other assurance services to major companies, including listed (full list and AIM) companies and companies with international interests.
  • Managing and developing staff (not only audit teams), i.e., coordinating staff projects, mentoring, counselling, appraising, recruiting etc.
  • Proven experience in managing a wide portfolio of concurrent projects and project teams in a project management framework.
  • Excellent working knowledge of UK and International GAAS, IFRS, UK GAAP and Financial Reporting requirements.
  • Technically efficient in both audit and accounting
  • A drive to deliver technical knowledge as a point of call for the team
  • Previous management experience, with a positive attitude
  • Confident in reviewing processes and improving systems to boost efficiency
  • Effective communication skills are essential, both verbal and written
