We're recruiting for a Junior Human Factors Engineer to join our clients business in Bristol.£30,000 - £38,000 + BenefitsIn office 4 days per week (in order to learn) This position of Human Factors Engineer is an entry level role, joining our team of experts applying human factors techniques and theory to support the delivery of client projects for medical devices and combination products. The role will include working on the planning, execution and reporting of formative and summative (validation) HF studies, generation of task analysis, use-related risk analysis, and other supporting HF documentation.Experience & Education

  • Degree or higher in Human Factors Engineering, or relevant related subject.
  • Understanding of a product development process.
  • Data handling and analytical skills.
  • Technical report writing skills.
  • Ability to travel when and where required.
  • Good time management skills and an ability to work well under pressure.
  • Honesty and integrity with team members and client communication.

Responsibilities

  • Understand of the medical device development process and role of Human Factors Engineering.
  • Apply Human Factors techniques and theory to the planning, execution and reporting of formative and summative Human Factors studies for a wide range of medical devices.
  • Support the team to deliver high quality HF projects to clients, on time and on budget.
  • Moderate usability test sessions and ability to follow study protocol.
  • Support the synthesis of study data to generate accurate and engaging content to communicate learnings to client teams (e.g. data manipulation in Excel, written reports in MS Word, presentations in MS PowerPoint and video clips using Adobe CC Suite).
  • Accurately collect data through direct observation or post-hoc analysis of video.
  • Support with performing root cause analysis, trend identification and extrapolation of commercially sensitive recommendations.
  • Report study data factually, accurately and concisely.
  • Support the generation of engaging and on-brand presentations using MS PowerPoint and Adobe CC Suite.
  • Support presentation and dissemination of study results confidently to clients.
  • Understand and be aware of good research practices such as taking informed consent, data privacy considerations and ethical best practices.
  • Support the generation and documentation of use-related risk assessments to help inform new device developments.

  • Manage own time and workload and prioritize tasks.
