Scope:

Seeking an Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable Supervisor for a Full-time contract within a Consulting business based in Bristol. In this position, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the AP/AR function. The role oversees one full-time employee, to be extended to two. Responsible for all aspects of both the AP and AR ledgers, you will ensure that our suppliers are paid correctly and on time, their accounts are fully reconciled, and that all funds received into the business are also fully reconciled.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the accounts receivable (AR) and accounts payable (AP) functions.
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments.
  • Ownership of the AR and AP including monitoring and reporting on key financial metrics.
  • Manage bank reconciliation.
  • Develop and implement AR/AP policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate with internal departments to resolve billing and payment issues.
  • Supervise and mentor AR/AP staff, providing guidance and support.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
  • Manage the expense claim process in SAP/Concur.

Required Skills

  • Part or fully qualified ACCA/CIMA.
  • Proven experience in AR/AP management.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of SAP, specifically SAP S4/Hana, is a bonus.

Required Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in AR/AP or a similar role.
  • Previous supervisory or management experience is preferred.
