Your new companyBS1 based commercial businessYour new roleThis business are looking to expand the finance team and hire an Accounts Payable Assistant to support the Client Accountant. Ideally, they are looking for an individual with an excellent understanding and experience of the purchase ledger, bank reconciliations and supplier statement reconciliations

  • Matching and inputting of approx. 300 invoices per week
  • Monitor the approval of invoices, ensuring this is performed promptly.
  • Deal with ad hoc queries from suppliers, colleagues, and external site teams
  • Proactively ensure that invoices are paid within 30 days in accordance with payment terms
  • Reconciliation of supplier statements, ensuring all issues are fully dealt with.
  • Assisting with weekly BACS cycle and raising CHAPS as needed.
  • Ensure all outstanding debit / credit balances are regularly cleared from the purchase ledger.
  • General ad-hoc duties as required.

What you'll need to succeed

  • AAT qualified/part qualified or qualified by experience. Study package available for the successful candidate.
  • Experience in running purchase ledgers and bank reconciliations.
  • Ability to act quickly and effectively using their own initiative.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise work, multi-task and remain flexible.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels.
  • To be a team player, but able to work alone when required.
  • To be trustworthy, personable and reliable.
  • A commitment to provide a good service to our tenants, suppliers and colleagues.
  • Excellent IT skills, including computerised accounts packages, Microsoft Office and at least to intermediate level in Excel.
