Blue Arrow is recruiting talented and ambitious Chefs for a prestigious private college in Bristol (BS8). We are looking for experienced chefs ready for a Chef de Partie (CDP) role as well as skilled junior chefs seeking a Commis Chef position with career growth.
We will be interviewing and trialling candidates to determine the most suitable role based on experience, skills, and ambition. Whether you're an experienced CDP looking for stability or a Commis Chef eager to develop into a CDP role, this is a fantastic opportunity in a structured, professional kitchen with no evening work.
Key Details
- Pay Rate: £12.45/hour (Commis) - £13.74/hour (CDP)
- Shifts:
- CDP: Monday-Friday - 4 days x 10 hours or 5 days x 8 hours (early mornings & afternoons)
- Commis: Sunday-Thursday, 8-hour shifts (flexible start times: 6am, 7am, or 8am)
- Employment Type: Temp-to-perm through Blue Arrow
- Start Date: ASAP

What is the role?
After interviewing and trialling, you will be placed in the most suitable position based on your current skills and progression goals:
? Chef de Partie (CDP) Role: Requires previous kitchen experience, high attention to detail, and the ability to lead a section independently. You'll be expected to deliver consistently high standards in food preparation, presentation, and service.
? Commis Chef Role: Ideal for a chef with solid kitchen skills who can already cook and present food but wants structured training and career growth. You'll start on the salad section and receive full training to progress within this prestigious private school kitchen.
The Ideal Candidate
- Experienced Chef - either at CDP level or a skilled Commis looking to progress
- Able to cook and present food to a high standard
- Hardworking, reliable, and able to work flexible daytime shifts
- Passionate about food and keen to learn in a professional environment
- Ideally based in Bristol (BS8) or able to commute reliably
