Area Sales Manager - Based in Bristol

Home based covering the West of England and Wales - M5/M4 corridor with some overnight stays - Candidates need to have a full UK driving licence

Basic salary c£38,000 plus uncapped OTE company car, pension scheme, 31 days holidays, increasing with service, staff discounts, death in service, Healthcare Cashplan, shopping, travel, and gym discounts. There is also a structured training and development plan in place for career progression.

My client is looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic, and energetic Area Sales Manager who has a flair for interior design to join their UK Sales team for a global manufacturer and distributor of floor and wall tiles.

You will have a tenacious personality and be able to demonstrate a minimum of 2 years’ experience working in B2B sales in either tiles, flooring or the wall covering industry, with a willingness to learn and develop your career further.

The purpose of this role is to retain existing accounts, whilst also developing and exceeding sales, research leads, open new accounts, whilst maintaining long term customer relationships.

You will become a specialist within the field, feeding back information on all aspects of the porcelain and ceramic market, including product trends and competitor operations.

Candidate

  • Highly resilient and possess excellent communication skills written and spoken with good interpersonal skills and be confident to deliver sales presentation.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of marketing (including social media)
  • Competent user of MS Office in particular Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and a CRM database
  • Highly organised with good route planning and time management skills and able to work to tight timescales and budgets.
  • A self-starter with the ability to work on your own initiative and to timescales.

Duties

  • You will develop and agree KPI’s, drive sales and develop dealer relationships with the UK independent tile and kitchen, bedroom, and bathroom sectors
  • Maintain and create a rapport with new and existing dealer networks within your geographic territory
  • Develop a pipeline of commercial sales opportunities, focussing on factory made product
  • Liaise with internal departments such as customer services, marketing, purchasing, production, and warehouse to aid ongoing territory growth.
  • Work closely with the assigned Customer Services Advisor and UK Retail & Contracts Customer Services Manager
  • You will become a product expert through training and by researching company literature, such as web, social sites, brochures for product/technical information and prices.
  • Data analysis/development of your territory to keep abreast of your competitors.
  • Update the CRM daily and through effective reporting/planning understand how these tools help to drive sales growth.
  • Deliver new product, brand and technical presentations and deliver exceptional customer service
