About the Role We are looking for a Civil Enforcement Officer (CCTV) to support Bristols Parking Strategy, ensuring compliance with traffic and parking regulations through CCTV surveillance and mobile enforcement. This role plays a key part in keeping roads safe and accessible while providing a fair and efficient service to the public.
This position will be primarily office-based, reviewing contraventions captured by CCTV. However, the postholder may be required to work on-street or in car parks, enforcing compliance with Traffic Regulation Orders.
Key Responsibilities
- CCTV Enforcement: Monitor and review static and mobile CCTV footage to identify parking and traffic violations.
- Traffic Enforcement: Use mobile CCTV to enforce regulations in bus lanes, public highways, and off-street parking areas.
- On-Street/Car Park Enforcement: Ensure vehicles comply with Traffic Regulation Orders, reporting non-compliance appropriately.
- Public Engagement: Provide excellent customer service, assisting the public with parking-related enquiries.
- Health & Safety Compliance: Identify and report safety hazards to the Senior Civil Enforcement Officer (CCTV).
- Vehicle Duties: Undertake driving responsibilities and conduct basic vehicle maintenance checks.
- Service Contribution: Support the Service Delivery Plan and work in compliance with the City Councils policies and procedures.
- Experience in CCTV operation, parking enforcement, or a similar regulatory role (preferred).
- Strong knowledge of traffic and parking legislation or the ability to learn quickly.
- Ability to remain fair, professional, and impartial in all enforcement activities.
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to review and document contraventions accurately.
- Willingness to work flexible shifts, including potential weekend work if required.
- A valid driving licence (if required for mobile enforcement duties).
- Play a key role in improving traffic flow and road safety in Bristol.
