Highway Engineer
Do you have hands-on urban highway and active travel design experience? Are you a Highway Engineer looking to make an impact by leading an engineering design team in Bristol?
We are looking for motivated and experienced highways engineers, with a passion for innovation and the ability to deliver complex highway engineering projects.
The highway engineer role in to lead the design and delivery of engineering projects from inception to completion. Your innovative solutions will be pivotal in supporting this highways engineering design team's urban transport objectives and contributing to the development of services, policies, and practices.
Key Responsibilities:
·Conduct initial, interim, and final surveys and investigations.
·Complete designs, calculations, specifications, plans, estimates, and reports using CAD and specialist software.
·Conduct site visits to ensure compliance with specifications and safety standards and prepare, issue, update, and close statutory notices as per legal requirements, liaising with statutory undertakers and other departments to manage conflicts and coordinate delivery.
·Oversee financial and contract management to ensure timely and budget-compliant delivery.
·Foster the professional development of yourself and colleagues, including mentoring towards professional accreditation.
What we offer
In addition to a competitive hourly rate, this is an initial 6-month contract with a view for the successful candidate to remain in the role long term. Hybrid working is offered with an average of 2 or 3 days per week in the office or based on site for site supervision at remote locations in Bristol.
