An opportunity to join a friendly and established precision engineering company in Bristol. The role will be working within a team of machinists reporting to the supervisor and production manager.

Responsibilities for the cnc miller position:

  • Preparing, setting and operating CNC machines to perform cnc milling operations
  • Understanding specifications by reading engineering drawings
  • Preparation and loading of raw materials and parts onto the machines
  • Preparing machines & Setting the machines to complete full production cycles
  • Monitoring the machines and make any necessary adjustments as required
  • Inspect and measure finished products against the requirements
  • Comply with all relevant Standards including ISO 9001
  • Checking and maintaining machinery on a daily basis instructions

Requirements for the cnc miller role:

  • Engineering apprenticeship or qualifications are desirable but time served experience is also of interest
  • Proven experience as a CNC setter/operator within engineering
  • Any basic programming is beneficial but not essential
  • any knowledge of Hurco machines with winmax controls is of interest
  • Skilled with an understanding of operating workshop machinery, tooling
  • Precision measuring equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical documents and engineering drawings
  • Computer literate with an understanding of computer programming Mechanical aptitude and good mathematical skills
  • Ability to work to deadlines and manufacturing targets
