Our client, a leading principal contractor specialising in refurbishment, fit out, and M&E projects are seeking a dynamic and experienced Contracts Manager to join their team due to continued growth.

As a Contracts Manager, you will play a critical role in the successful delivery of projects from inception to completion. You will be responsible for overseeing the contract life cycle, ensuring compliance with all legal and contractual obligations, managing project risks, and leading negotiations. This role requires a proactive individual with strong communication skills to be the client's main point of contact.

Contracts Manager

Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of the contract process, including preparation, negotiation, and execution of contracts with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Oversee project delivery to ensure that contractual obligations are met, projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Monitor and report on project progress, identifying potential risks and implementing mitigation strategies to avoid delays or cost overruns.
  • Liaise with clients, project teams, and stakeholders to maintain clear communication and ensure that expectations are aligned throughout the project life cycle.
  • Constant presence on site to monitor progress, resolve issues, and maintain a strong presence on projects.
  • Ensure compliance with all legal, regulatory, and company requirements, including health and safety standards.
  • Manage change orders, variations, and claims, ensuring that all changes are documented and agreed upon with clients.
  • Lead negotiations with clients and subcontractors to resolve disputes and finalise terms.
  • Work closely with the commercial and project management teams to forecast costs, track expenditures, and manage budgets.
  • Provide mentorship and support to junior team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.

  • Proven experience as a Contracts Manager
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Commercially astute with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Previous experience bidding, estimating, and leading projects
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and project management software.
  • Full UK driving license.
