Are you a dynamic and experienced Senior Project Manager with a passion for renewable energy? An exciting opportunity awaits for an individual to lead a major capital investment project (circa £7m) across multiple operating solar assets. This role offers the chance to play a pivotal part in designing, planning, and delivering key projects within the renewable energy sector.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Development:

  • Conduct project assessments to understand current situations, identify issues, and develop solution scopes.

  • Collaborate with internal and external engineers on feasibility studies, including technical, financial, and environmental evaluations.

  • Secure project funding by engaging with commercial and finance teams to align with business priorities.

  • Develop comprehensive project plans covering timelines, budgets, and resource allocations.

Gaining Approval:

  • Ensure all projects comply with relevant regulations and standards.

  • Obtain necessary permits and approvals from regulatory bodies.

  • Identify, mitigate, and communicate project risks, coordinating actions to manage them.

Contracting:

  • Prepare Employer Specifications for funded projects and lead competitive tendering processes.

  • Work with stakeholders to evaluate bids and select preferred suppliers.

  • Support Procurement and Legal teams in contract negotiations, minimizing risks and securing favorable terms.

Implementation:

  • Oversee project execution, ensuring delivery within scope, time, and budget.

  • Ensure health and safety regulations, including CDM requirements, are strictly adhered to.

  • Implement quality control measures and regularly report on project progress.

  • Resolve any project challenges efficiently and professionally.

Post-Implementation:

  • Manage commissioning processes to ensure operational readiness and expected performance.

  • Monitor asset performance post-implementation to identify future investment opportunities.

  • Conduct project reviews, documenting lessons learned and best practices.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Strong knowledge of renewable energy supply chains and technologies.

  • Understanding of electrical systems and/or civil works.

  • Experience delivering projects safely, on time, and on budget.

  • Proven ability to present projects for technical and commercial review and gain investment approval.

  • Familiarity with CDM regulations and relevant health and safety legislation.

  • Project management qualification (e.g., Prince2) and safety qualifications (e.g., IOSH or NeBOSH).

  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

  • A full, clean UK driving licence.

Working Hours:

  • 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday (9:00 am - 5:30 pm).

  • Flexibility offered through hybrid working arrangements.
