An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Senior Project Planner to join a global engineering business and leader in providing cutting edge solutions to the defence and aerospace sectors. They will provide support to a growing portfolio of high profile defence projects.

The Senior Project Planner will join an established team and play a crucial role in the planning, coordination, and successful execution of defence programmes. They will collaborate closely with project managers, engineers and other key stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and in line with budget requirements.

Duties

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project schedules, aligning with project objectives, milestones, and deadlines.
  • Work closely with the project management team to track progress, update schedules, and forecast project timelines.
  • Identify and manage risks, opportunities, and potential bottlenecks in project schedules.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure resource allocation and capacity planning meet project needs.
  • Provide regular reports on project status, including progress, variance analysis, and critical path reviews.
  • Support the preparation of project plans, bids, and proposals, ensuring accurate planning and forecasting.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and industry standards in project planning and reporting.

Candidate

  • Proven experience as a Project Planner, preferably within the defence, aerospace, or other highly regulated industries.
  • Proficiency in project planning software such as Primavera P6, MS Project, or similar tools.
  • Strong understanding of project management principles, including risk management, resource planning, and cost control.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate complex information to stakeholders.
  • Attention to detail and strong organisational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Eligible for UK security clearance (UK citizenship required).
