We are seeking a Health and Safety Advisor to join an innovative global leader in engineering and manufacturing, based in Filton, Bristol. Role Overview:
As a Health and Safety Advisor, you will play a key role in supporting the business to create an inclusive and safe working environment. You will assist in driving improvements on a daily basis, helping prevent injury, ill health, and loss while ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety policies. Your expertise will support the risk assessment process and enable effective management of health and safety standards across the business.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the implementation of UK EHS policies for occupational health and safety management.
  • Provide professional, pragmatic guidance to the business to drive safety improvements.
  • Assist in reducing accident and incident rates, ensuring timely and accurate reporting, investigation, and resolution of incidents.
  • Actively support the risk assessment process, identifying and managing potential hazards.
  • Undertake regular compliance audits and monitoring activities to maintain safety standards.
  • Collaborate with the business to develop tools, processes, and data capture systems for effective health and safety management.
  • Maintain a structured meeting framework to facilitate communication and consultation with internal stakeholders.

Skill Set:
Essential:

  • NEBOSH Occupational Health and Safety Certificate or equivalent H&S qualification.
  • Proven experience in a similar Health and Safety Advisor role, with a track record of working with key stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with formal risk assessment techniques and safety management.
  • Experience working in engineering, manufacturing, or technical environments.
  • Strong communication skills and a team player with the ability to work independently.
  • Practical understanding of health and safety standards and their application.
  • Proficient in office IT systems and software.

Desirable:

  • Experience in machinery safety or Construction Design & Management (CDM).
  • Occupational Hygiene knowledge is a plus.
  • Experience in accident investigation and root cause analysis.
