Your new company
Your new company is a leading engineering and construction firm specialising in the delivery of schemes including Groundworks, Civil Engineering, Highways, Landscaping and Utilities. The company are looking for a season Contracts Manager to join the team. This position will suit a candidate in a Contracts Manager role currently, or someone in a Project Manager role looking to take the next step.

Your new role
The ideal candidate will ensure that all contractual aspects are handled efficiently, ensuring successful project delivery within budget and on time. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Contract Negotiation: Lead negotiations with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to secure favourable contract terms.
  • Contract Administration: Manage and administer contracts throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring compliance and resolving any disputes that may arise.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate contractual risks, ensuring that all potential issues are addressed proactively.
  • Cost Control: Oversee project budgets and financial performance, ensuring cost control and financial efficiency.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of all contractual agreements, amendments, and communications.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment on contract requirements and deliverables.
  • Reporting: Provide regular updates and detailed reports on contract status, financial performance, and risk management to senior management


What you'll need to succeed

  • Degree in Civil Engineering preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in a Project / Contracts Manager role in the Civil Engineering sector.
  • Experience of working in a Sub-Contractor environment is advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of contract law and construction contracts, including NEC, JCT or ICE.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage teams effectively under pressure.
