The Role

The People Development & Experience Team has an exciting opportunity for a Learning Manager to join our Bristol office. The Learning Manager plays an integral part of embedding the newly introduced Academy, focusing on all aspects of Leadership & Management development . As an expert within the Learning & Development CoE, this role will drive the development and implementation of a best-in-class learning programmes and Learning & Development (L&D) roadmap in line with Unite Students` objective to become a high-performing, high-capability organisation and a great place to work.

This role will report into the Senior Learning & Development Manager and work within the wider People Team.

What You`ll Be Doing

  • Support the Learning & Development team with preparing and implementing learning strategies within an Academy that champions growth and development for all employees across the business.
  • Work closely across the whole business, supporting the end-to-end learning cycle, designing, building and delivering learning content that has a direct impact on enabling teams and individuals to grow, whilst forming strong L&D frameworks that integrate Unites Students culture and values.
  • Support the design and delivery of different methods of learning across Unite Students, such as coaching, mentoring, job shadowing, online, virtual and face to face learning. Ensuring all employees are supported across the business from induction to on-the-job development and leadership development.
  • Working with third party learning providers to identify relevant learning solutions, alongside the SME or functional project lead.
  • Collaborate with the Learning & Development Coordinator to arrange live learning events, workshops and making new online learning available to the right audiences.
  • Be comfortable facilitating workshops, small group learning events and have experience of implementing a mix of blended learning activities, from job skilling to management development.
  • Be comfortable with being hands on and thinking about the bigger picture, as skills and knowledge are developed for the long term
  • Be enthusiastic, an ambassador for the Academy and be able to deliver all learning methods, through strong facilitation skills.
  • Drive the development and implementation of an improved Talent Cycle working alongside the whole Academy Team.
  • Support the selection and embedding of a new Talent / Learning Management System to enable the implementation of the Academy
  • Support the Head of Learning & Development and Senior Learning & Development Manager with any Learning project activity as required.

  • A proven experience in a range of L&D activities in a fast-paced environment - ideally been responsible for building, designing and evaluating L&Dactivities whilst working as part of a team.
