Academics is working with outstanding schools across Bristol that cater to children with SEN aged 5-19. These schools are dedicated to helping students reach their full potential through exceptional teaching, care, and support.
As an SEN/SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting students with their learning, social development, and emotional well-being. From 1:1 support to small group sessions, you'll help create a nurturing and inclusive environment where students can thrive.
Responsibilities
- Work alongside teachers to deliver engaging lessons tailored to students' individual needs.
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with SEN, including ASD and ADHD.
- Encourage confidence, independence, and essential life skills in every learner.
- Support students' social and emotional development using positive reinforcement strategies.
- Help implement and monitor Individual Education Plans (IEPs) in collaboration with teachers and parents.
What We're Looking ForWe are seeking someone who is passionate, patient, and empathetic. You'll bring strong communication and teamwork skills, along with a flexible approach to classroom dynamics.
Previous experience as an SEN/SEMH Teaching Assistant is desirable but not essential-full training is provided. A qualification in supporting teaching and learning is an advantage but not required.
