A growing high-tech engineering company, with over 100 employees and annual revenues of £25 million, is recruiting a commercially focused Chief Financial Officer (CFO). This strategic and analytical leadership role involves working closely with the CEO to help shape the company’s ambitious goal of reaching £100M+ in revenues in the coming years.

As CFO, you will be a key member of the leadership team, working across the business and with the Board to guide the company’s financial strategy. You will play a crucial role in driving long-term growth, influencing major commercial decisions, and ensuring the business is well-positioned to meet its ambitious objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Partnership: Collaborate with the leadership team and Board to deliver on company strategic initiatives, influencing a wide range of commercial decisions.
  • Investment, Financing and M&A: Lead strategic decisions regarding third-party investments, capital raising, financing, and potential mergers and acquisitions to support business growth.
  • Commercial Partnering: Partner with the engineering and technology teams on new product development to ensure commercial viability and financial alignment.
  • Analytical Leadership: Drive deep analytical thinking to simplify and add value around complex technology stacks, ensuring data-driven decision-making.
  • Financial Leadership: Oversee all aspects of financial operations, ensuring alignment with the company’s strategic goals.

The Person:

  • Commercial and Strategic Focus: A commercially and strategically focused finance professional with a minimum of five years of senior finance leadership experience in sectors such as technology, engineering, or software.
  • Technical and Analytical Expertise: A strong technical and analytical mindset, with a proven track record of partnering with CEOs to drive strategic and financial objectives that support organic growth.
  • Commercial Acumen: A highly commercial and innovative mindset, with significant experience leading capital-raising initiatives and ideally exposure to M&A projects.
  • Leadership: Demonstrated experience in building and leading high-performing teams, coupled with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Effective Communication: The ability to convey complex financial information clearly and succinctly, collaborating across functions and at all levels.
