As the Algorithms Team Lead, you will manage the design and development of complex algorithms that form the foundation of sophisticated defence systems. Your leadership will be crucial in shaping and driving algorithmic solutions that are integral to the performance of advanced weapon systems.

In this role, you will collaborate closely with various stakeholders, including systems engineers, software engineers, and project managers, to ensure that the algorithmic solutions developed by your team meet stringent technical and performance requirements. You will have the opportunity to lead from the front, guiding your team through technical challenges and ensuring the delivery of high-quality results that enhance the effectiveness of complex defence systems.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership: Manage and lead a team of algorithm engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment that drives success.
  • Algorithm Development: Oversee the design, development, and testing of complex algorithms that form a core part of advanced weapon systems.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with systems engineers, software engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure that the algorithms align with broader project goals and technical requirements.
  • Technical Oversight: Provide technical guidance and mentoring to your team, ensuring that solutions are delivered to the highest standards.
  • Project Management: Monitor project timelines and ensure that algorithmic developments are delivered on time and within scope, while meeting all performance requirements.
  • Innovation: Encourage the exploration of new technologies and methodologies that can improve algorithm development and overall system performance.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Ensure comprehensive technical documentation is maintained, and provide regular updates to senior management and stakeholders.


What We're Looking For:

  • Algorithm Development Experience: Strong background in developing complex algorithms for systems within a defence or similarly regulated environment.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and motivate a technical team, with experience managing the delivery of algorithmic solutions in high-pressure, complex projects.
  • Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of algorithm development, with a focus on mathematical modelling, signal processing, or control systems.
  • Collaborative Skills: Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Problem-Solving: Demonstrated ability to address complex technical challenges and deliver innovative solutions.
