Reed is currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established Bristol-based client, located just a stone’s throw away from Temple Meads Station, for an ATE Underwriter to join on a full time, permanent basis.

This is a permanent position where you will be instrumental in supporting the After-The-Event Underwriting Manager. You will act as a subject matter expert, overseeing product performance and implementing strategic improvements. This role is ideal for someone with a comprehensive understanding of ATE insurance and a passion for enhancing underwriting and claims processes.

It is key that you are a general insurance professional, specifically with experience in Underwriting.

Location is perfect for any commuters coming from further-afield for example Cardiff, Cheltenham, Gloucester, Swindon, Exeter.

Hybrid working: 2 days office/3 homeHours: Mon – Fri. 9-5 – 35 hour week

Salary: Junior - £30k. Mid – Up to £35k. Higher level – Up to £45k

Day to Day of the Role:

Collaborate with the ATE Underwriting Manager to monitor and improve product performance.

Manage complex or high-risk underwriting and claims referrals, providing a key escalation point for decisions beyond set authority limits.

Deliver valuable insights on underwriting and claims performance to the business.

Provide technical guidance during product development and management, ensuring policy wordings are comprehensive and competitive.

Work with stakeholders to ensure technical accuracy and effectiveness of policy wordings.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

In-depth knowledge of ATE insurance.

Ability to maintain high-quality output while working at a fast pace.

Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

Demonstrated passion for delivery and sharing best practice within your area of expertise.

Proficient problem-solving skills.
