HR Assistant

Location: North Bristol

Job Type: Full time or part time

Our client is looking for a HR assistant to join their Bristol team!

The ideal candidate will have previous HR administration/assistant experience and feel comfortable to manage HR administration and recruiting processes independently.  

Day-to-day tasks:

Recruitment:

  • Post job openings on job boards.
  • Screen candidates and coordinate with hiring managers.
  • Send offer letters, attend interviews, and take notes.

Onboarding:

  • Get background checks and work references.
  • Manage the probationary period process including tracking, reminders to managers, and issuing supporting letters. Ensure managers are providing required training and competency sign off prior to probation completion.

Administration:

  • Be the first point of contact for administrative tasks, including employment contracts, variation letters, long service anniversary letters, holiday exchange forms.

Systems:

  • Keep staff information up-to-date in the employee dashboard and BrightHR, including work patterns, reporting lines, role changes, and salary adjustments.

Benefits:

Adhoc:

  • Attend meetings with managers to take minutes where required, such as performance reviews, investigations, and flexible working requests.

About you:

  • Previous experience in a HR assistant/administration role (minimum 2 years).
  • Ability to work well independently.
  • Reliable and confidential in managing employee information.
  • Able to work in the office full time.
  • No qualifications required- looking for experience!
