The organisation I am working with are looking to add a M&E Supervisor to their Bristol team due to an increase in workload from the council because of the high-level service they have provided so far. They will be managing external contractors directly, working with the Electricians directly and be responsible for 4/5 crews. They would like this person to have a social housing background and have experience as a Supervisor or Manager. They will support people with qualifications and provide progression opportunities within the company.The salary for this role is £36k + company van.Responsibilities of the M&E Supervisor role:
  • You will oversee PPM schedules and reactive maintenance tasks
  • You will oversee the compliance and health & safety regulations and industry standards across the contracts
  • Responsible for the operation and maintenance of essential mechanical and electrical equipment
  • You will complete site audits, risk assessments and method statements
  • You will liaise with the Facilities Management Team of changes in critical environment requirements
  • Look at splitting your time between hands-on maintenance and supervisory duties
Skills needed in the M&E Supervisor role:
  • Good understanding of a wide variety of mechanical and electrical systems and their installation methods
  • Good people management, organisation and motivational skills
  • For this role, you must hold a qualification with Electrical Installations e.g. City & Guilds or NVQ
  • It would be desirable for you to have worked in a similar position e.g. supervisor or lead engineer
  • Use Microsoft to a good standard - Excel/word and project and SharePoint
  • Good problem-solving skills with a critical thinking approach
