Quarry Manager / Site Manager - Quarrying

Job Description

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Quarry Manager / Site Manager (Quarrying) to join an established and successful company, delivering crushing & screening and load & haul operations within the south and southwest of England.

The Company

The company was founded in the 1950's and specializes in Bulk Earthworks, Quarrying, Crushing / Screening & Civil Engineering.

Position Summary

They are looking for a driven and enthusiastic individual to join Their established team and to work closely with clients, staff and subcontractors to ensure that requirements are completed in full and on time.

Duties will include:

  • Provide effective Management to site operatives and subcontractors.
  • Manage the quality and efficiency of work by site teams ensuring that all company and client health and safety and compliance standards are maintained.
  • Communicate with personnel and clients at all levels.
  • Strives for a culture of safety first and continuous improvement to learn from near hits and incidents to improve behavioral, physical, and procedural standards.
  • Have a commercial understanding of works, always implementing cost and efficiency savings.
  • Effective workforce and equipment planning alongside the plant office to ensure their efficient deployment.
  • Planning and active supervision of preventative maintenance of equipment alongside the engineering department.
  • Represent the company in a professional and proactive manner, always building and maintaining strong relationships with clients that enhances a teamwork approach to solving operational challenges.
  • Accurate paperwork is completed daily, recording all aspects of works, and signed where required.

Skills and Qualifications

They are looking for an individual with excellent interpersonal skills, a strong focus on health and safety, and proven experience within the mineral extractives industry at management or supervisory level.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Mobile plant operation - loading shovel, ADT, excavator, crushers & screens
  • NVQ Level 4 - Health, Safety and Environmental management in Quarries
  • Level 3 - Geotechnical knowledge for supervisors
  • First Aid
  • SMSTS
