Senior Safety Engineer

Bristol

Paying up to £55,000 (DOE)

*** Due to the nature of the work you must be eligible to obtain SC level Securityclearance ***

Responsibilities:

  • Production and maintenance of Safety Reports and Plans: e.g. Safety Case Reports and Safety Management Plans.
  • Experience in carrying out Hazard Identification and Hazard Analysis.
  • Safety assessment and management experience working on UK Submarine programs either within the SDA or supporting the design and manufacturing activities of UK submarines.
  • Nuclear Safety Design Justification (NSDJ) and Design Safety Justification Plans (DSJP).
  • WOME & Strategic Weapons Systems safety assessments.
  • Legislation Compliance Assessments and Statements.
  • Hazard Log Management including eCassandra.
  • Experience working on complex systems.
  • Experience working with DE&S and following the ASEMS process.

Experience required:

  • Ideally, be degree-qualified in an Engineering discipline.
  • Ideally, be a Chartered Engineer (CEng) or equivalent experience.
  • Familiarity with ARP4754A, or DO178C/DO254 and ARP4761.
  • Understanding of safety assurance of software and/or complex hardware.
  • Understanding/experience working with DEF STAN 07-85.
  • Experience with Failure Modes, Effects (and Criticality) Analysis.
  • Knowledge of Model-Based Systems Engineering.
  • Experience in carrying out Fault Tree Analysis (e.g. Isograph Reliability Workbench).
