Senior Safety Engineer

Paying up to £55,000 (DOE)

Responsibilities:
- Production and maintenance of Safety Reports and Plans: e.g. Safety Case Reports and Safety Management Plans.
- Experience in carrying out Hazard Identification and Hazard Analysis.
- Safety assessment and management experience working on UK Submarine programs either within the SDA or supporting the design and manufacturing activities of UK submarines.
- Nuclear Safety Design Justification (NSDJ) and Design Safety Justification Plans (DSJP).
- WOME & Strategic Weapons Systems safety assessments.
- Legislation Compliance Assessments and Statements.
- Hazard Log Management including eCassandra.
- Experience working on complex systems.
- Experience working with DE&S and following the ASEMS process.
Experience required:
- Ideally, be degree-qualified in an Engineering discipline.
- Ideally, be a Chartered Engineer (CEng) or equivalent experience.
- Familiarity with ARP4754A, or DO178C/DO254 and ARP4761.
- Understanding of safety assurance of software and/or complex hardware.
- Understanding/experience working with DEF STAN 07-85.
- Experience with Failure Modes, Effects (and Criticality) Analysis.
- Knowledge of Model-Based Systems Engineering.
- Experience in carrying out Fault Tree Analysis (e.g. Isograph Reliability Workbench).
