Diversity and Inclusion Manager

NonStop's Client is looking for a Diversity and Inclusion Manager to join a Central Government Body. This opportunity will offer you stability through the current challenging market, as it is at a minimum 6 month Hybrid contract position.

This is a superb opportunity for someone wanting to work within the Defence Sector which is highly regulated.

As a Diversity and Inclusion Manager, your role focuses on fostering an inclusive workplace, particularly addressing the needs of employees with disabilities. Your responsibilities include:

  • Assessment and Recommendations: Evaluating current policies, practices, and environments to identify barriers for employees with disabilities and providing actionable recommendations to improve inclusivity in line with the Equality Act 2010.
  • Policy Development: Crafting a tailored reasonable adjustments policy, ensuring compliance with UK legislation, and creating procedures to guide employees and managers in requesting and implementing these adjustments.
  • Training and Awareness: Designing and delivering training on disability awareness, inclusivity, and reasonable adjustments for both employees and management. You will also create communication materials to promote understanding and the importance of inclusivity.
  • Implementation Support: Collaborating with stakeholders to effectively implement recommended adjustments and offering ongoing support during the process.
  • Monitoring and Evaluation: Developing a system to track the success of adjustments and regularly reviewing for compliance and improvement.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintaining detailed records of all adjustments and producing reports on the program's progress and impact.
  • Compliance Assurance: Ensuring compliance with the Equality Act 2010 and staying informed on legal changes and best practices for reasonable adjustments in the UK.

This role requires strong knowledge of diversity and inclusion principles, as well as familiarity with UK disability laws and workplace compliance.

Essential:

  • Vast DE&I experience
  • Experience in 'Reasonable Adjustments'
  • I.T literate
  • Experience and knowledge of the Equality Act
  • Active SC clearance

Desirable:

  • Qualified to CIPD level 5
  • Public Sector experience
