Summary

A world-leading engineering company like the NCC needs a world-leading skills development team to keep us at the forefront of industry knowledge.

We are working with a range of new clients, and our skills development team needs an additional Project Lead to manage an exciting skills-based project, which will include training needs analysis, work with our subject matter experts and training team to develop projects, then manage the subsequent delivery and lead of a series of people-focused programmes embedding innovation and collaborative working practices.

Please note some travel to clients sites may be required on an ad-hoc basis.

What will you do:

There are five key packages of work youll need to deliver over the coming 1-2 years; initially youll focus on building groups to lead the projects, training needs analysis, development of training programmes, creating resource databases, and knowledge sharing activities. You will take ownership of regular communications promoting progress of the packages.

Youll need to coordinate with our clients, arrange meetings to gather requirements and conduct Training Needs Analysis. There will be a large element of third party stakeholder management.

Youll work with a multidisciplinary team to develop training materials then project manage the delivery of those courses.

Our focus will be the production of training courses related to our specialism in advanced composites.

Project Management Responsibilities include;

  • Responsible for supporting the successful execution of projects through any or all of the fivephases of a project lifecycle: initiation, requirements capture, planning, execution and closure.
  • Ensure all project management processes are followed including: effective risk identification and mitigation, change control, maintenance of documentation logs, updating project reporting and creation and management of project plans.
  • Budget management
  • Support weekly and monthly project review meetings to ensure all elements of project delivery are achieved.
  • Ensure all members of the project team have clear visibility of project booking codes and are accurately reflecting all the hours worked on the project
  • Ensure all projects adhere to NCC quality, health and safety processes and actively promote a positive H&S culture within the team.
  • Maintain up to date project plans covering all live and pipeline projects.
  • Ensure all project plans are correctly resourced so that capacity planning can be conducted across all functional skill groups Technology

So, what are we looking for in your application?

We will prioritise applications with background in fields such as engineering, defence & related industries. Specific experience we will look for in your CV would include;

  • Experience working as a mid-level project manager (or equivalent role) with experience of leading formal projects.
  • Prior experience within the field of Training, Skills or Learning & Development, including having previously been involved with Training Needs Analysis.
  • Prior experience delivering training projects.
  • Experience working with external 3rdparties and external communications.
  • Project planning.
  • Budget management experience.
  • Desirable: Experience within the Defence sector
