We are seeking an experienced Human Resources Advisor to provide high-quality, proactive HR support across a public sector client Burman are supporting. Working closely with managers and staff, this role will focus on delivering expert advice on HR policies, supporting organisational change, and managing employee relations cases effectively. As part of a collaborative team, the HR Advisor will contribute to the development and implementation of HR initiatives that align with organisational goals.

Principal Accountabilities

HR Advice and Support

  • Provide managers with expert guidance on HR policies, procedures, and employment legislation.
  • Address employee relations cases, including disciplinary, grievance, and capability processes, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.

Employee Relations

  • Support managers in resolving complex employee issues, offering solutions aligned with organisational goals.
  • Facilitate effective communication and resolution strategies to foster a positive workplace culture.

Change Management

  • Partner with managers to plan and implement organisational changes, ensuring that they are carried out smoothly and achieve desired outcomes.
  • Support staff through transitions, providing clear communication and addressing concerns.

Recruitment and Retention

  • Assist in the recruitment process, advising managers on best practices for attracting and selecting candidates.
  • Support onboarding processes to enhance the employee experience.

Policy Implementation

  • Contribute to the development and review of HR policies, ensuring they reflect current legislation and organisational priorities.
  • Promote the consistent application of policies and procedures across the organisation.

Data and Reporting

  • Maintain accurate employee records, ensuring compliance with GDPR and other data protection requirements.
  • Use HR data to identify trends and inform strategic decisions.

Learning and Development

  • Support the delivery of training initiatives, including management briefings and HR-related workshops.
  • Advise managers on staff development opportunities to support performance and career growth.
