Our client, a leading player in the defence and security sector, is currently seeking a Principal Engineer - Systems Engineering (Architecture) to join their team on a contract basis. This role is integral to the Submarine Solutions business and involves a hybrid working arrangement with the location in Barrow or Filton.
Key Responsibilities:
- Developing and maintaining model-based systems engineering (MBSE) architecture for submarine systems.
- Utilising modelling tools to create and manage systems models.
- Ensuring system architecture aligns with overall project requirements and standards.
- Collaborating with various stakeholders to integrate system models into the broader engineering environment.
- Providing technical leadership and guidance within the systems engineering domain.
- Reviewing and approving systems engineering documentation and deliverables.
- Conducting technical assessments and evaluations to support project decisions.
- Coordinating with cross-functional teams to manage project timelines and deliverables.
Job Requirements:
- Experience in model-based systems engineering (MBSE).
- Proficiency with modelling tools.
- Understanding of systems engineering principles and best practices within the defence sector.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid working model, spending 2 days on-site per fortnight.
- Relevant engineering degree or equivalent qualification.
