This is a great opportunity to be involved in a highly successful Air Defence programme within the Platform Communications Team, providing through-life support to all aspects of an important sub-system, the Platform Data Link Terminal (PDLT).
Job Title: System Engineer – Network Communications
Salary: Circa £55,000 depending on experienceÂ
Location: Bristol, Bolton, or Stevenage (We may be able to offer a relocation package for this role)
Dynamic (hybrid) working: 2-3 days per week on-site due to workload classification
Security Clearance: British Citizen
Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.
The opportunity:
As a System Engineer in Network Communications, you will be operating within a busy delivery programme for UK and international customers ensuring the product maintains the highest of standards. Your core role will to be to analyse and provide reports on encompassing new technologies and enhancing capabilities within the core product – across Sea and Land.
You will gain valuable engineering experience, engage stakeholders, co-ordinate technology specialists, and deliver weapon systems that make a difference to our UK and partner nation Armed Forces.

- Experience in engineering product delivery
- Experience of technical problem solving
- Excellent communication skills
- Engineering degree or equivalent
Great if you have:
- An understanding of System Engineering Process (including System Specification, System Test and Integration)
- Experience of Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) using SysML and UML, preferably using Rhapsody
- Experience in tools for Requirements Capture and Control (DOORS) and Configuration Management (Dimensions or RTC)
