Town Planner / Senior Town Planner

An established and highly regarded planning consultancy is looking for a Town Planner or Senior Town Planner to join their growing team in Bristol. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated planning professional to work on a diverse range of projects across residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments.

The Role

As a Town Planner or Senior Town Planner, you will play a key role in delivering expert planning advice to clients, managing applications, and contributing to the success of high-profile projects. You will work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders, ensuring that planning strategies align with client objectives and local policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparing and managing planning applications, appeals, and representations
  • Providing strategic planning advice to clients across multiple sectors
  • Engaging with local authorities, stakeholders, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Conducting research, site appraisals, and policy analysis to support planning applications
  • Managing projects from inception to completion, ensuring deadlines and budgets are met
  • Supporting business development efforts and building strong client relationships
  • Mentoring and supporting junior planners (for Senior Town Planner level)

About You

  • RTPI-accredited degree in Town Planning or a related field
  • MRTPI qualified or working towards chartership
  • Strong knowledge of UK planning regulations and policy frameworks
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and report-writing skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • A proactive and solutions-driven approach to planning challenges
