The RoleThe Town Planner will be responsible for managing and delivering planning projects across a variety of sectors. Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing and submitting planning applications and appeals
- Conducting site appraisals, research, and feasibility studies
- Drafting planning statements and policy documents
- Engaging with local authorities, stakeholders, and communities
- Keeping up to date with planning legislation and policy changes
- Supporting senior colleagues on complex development projects
The ideal candidate will have:
- A degree in Town Planning or a related field
- Experience working in a planning consultancy, local authority, or developer environment
- A strong understanding of the UK planning system and relevant policies
- Excellent communication and report-writing skills
- The ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively
- A proactive and problem-solving approach
- MRTPI qualification (or working towards it) is desirable
