We are seeking a Head of Legal to join our client's growing legal team in Bristol. This role offers a competitive salary and hybrid working arrangements
Job Profile: As the Commercial Head of Legal, you will lead the Commercial Legal function, supporting bids and day-to-day legal matters. You will ensure compliance with legal policies and regulatory requirements, providing expert legal guidance in corporate governance, compliance, and risk management. This role requires a deep understanding of complex legal assignments and the ability to influence across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the Commercial Legal function, supporting bids and day-to-day legal matters.
- Ensure compliance with legal policies and regulatory requirements.
- Provide legal guidance and expertise in corporate governance, compliance, and risk management.
- Protect the interests of the company, its shareholders, and other stakeholders.
- Achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) security clearance.
Qualifications:
- Commercial Solicitor with at least 12 years PQE (gained either In-House or at a Top Tiered Law Firm).
- Experience in providing legal advice on complex, highly regulated projects.
- Knowledge of Export Control and UK, EU, and US Sanctions Regimes.
- Experience in instructing external Counsel when necessary.
- Previous experience in the Nuclear Sector is desirable.
- Strong knowledge in contracts and torts law.
- Experience in the advisory and legal management of complex industrial schemes (JVs, consortium, partnerships).
- Experience in drafting and understanding complex IP agreements.
- Knowledge of NECs is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage priorities.
- Successful background in an international group with cultural diversity.
