Your new firmA progressive law firm that proudly ranks amongst the Top 100 in the UK is seeking a Solicitor or Legal Executive (NQ-2) to join their fast-growing Industrial Disease team in Bristol. As a Solicitor/CiLEx, you will consistently deliver a high standard of legal advice to clients in a commercially astute manner and always deliver outstanding client service. You will also be required to assist with the marketing of the department's services and undertake business development activities to build on the firm and the team's reputation for excellence. Your new roleDuties will include;

  • Assist partners and senior lawyers with their caseloads of asbestos disease claims, predominantly mesothelioma, dealing effectively with cases to achieve the best outcome possible for clients.
  • Gradually develop the necessary knowledge, skills and experience to work towards building a caseload of your own.
  • Deal directly with clients, many of whom are terminally ill and/or elderly, to take instructions and ensure full understanding in order to deliver on client expectations.
  • Liaise with experts, counsel and other third parties to progress client matters.
  • Works closely with partners and senior lawyers to develop client relationship skills.
  • Prioritise training needs and learning more about asbestos litigation.
  • Work towards APIL accreditation to be recognised as a Litigator, and in time an Asbestos Disease Specialist.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive 0-2PQE
  • Previous experience within the PI sector, ideally with some experience of asbestos disease/mesothelioma claims.
  • Ability to work for multiple fee earners and work well under supervision.
  • Desire to learn and become a specialist in this niche area of law.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on delivery of excellent client service.
  • Organised and able to effectively prioritise and manage time.
