An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the 1AWYF2 Fuel Systems Installation Wing Engineering Design Team in Filton. You will operate as part of a multi-national team with presence in Filton, Broughton, and Wichita.

The Wing Systems Installation Team plays an important part in ensuring that Airbus manufactures the world's best aircraft.

We are a highly skilled, motivated and diverse team of Design Engineers focused on constantly challenging the current design and conventional thinking in order to maximise profitability whilst ensuring on time delivery and quality.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to develop your Fuel Systems Installation Design skills across the full range of Airbus commercial aircraft as well as the opportunity to engage with a variety of customers, stakeholders and suppliers. The team portfolio includes Single Aisle, A380, A400M , A330 and A350. We also support R&T projects such as ZeroE, WoT and co-ordinate our activities with the ATA28 level 1 teams.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the 'end to end' design process from conceptual design, modification process in support of maturity gates, DFM and support to manufacturing sites
  • Design and validation of Fuel System installation components and assemblies that are optimized in terms of weight, cost, performance, production/assembly requirements while highest safety of the product is assured using appropriate design tools
  • Deliver the Definition Dossier for Manufacturing and Assembly (Component and Final Assembly Line)
  • Define, deliver and enable technical studies, trades and investigations to ensure the delivery of technical solutions in accordance with relevant Design Methods and Procedures
  • Work on design concepts in support of product incremental development and apply real life installation trials and prototyping when required. Manage the introduction of new modifications, provide support to the in service fleet and wing build-support

Skill Set

  • A highly competent user of Catia V5
  • Experience in design configuration tool sets i.e. PASS, DPDS, VPM, ICC/ACP etc
  • Are agile, have excellent communication skills and a strong work/team ethos
  • Agility with people and foster a strong wellbeing mind-set
