Meningitis Research Foundation is an international health charity head-quartered in the Bristol, driven by a passionate mission to prevent the devastating impact of meningitis. Founded by individuals whose lives were profoundly affected by meningitis, we are dedicated to enabling positive change by uniting people and knowledge to save lives.

The Confederation of Meningitis Organisations (CoMO) is our worldwide network of people and groups who are driven by a shared purpose to defeat meningitis. By coming together to share their diverse experience and expertise, they are a formidable global force against this life-threatening condition.

The role

This is a newly established role, working with CoMO, and is key to achieving our goals to grow and engage members within an international civil society network. We have over 140 members across 50 countries, with a regional coordinator for each of our 4 regions: Europe, the Americas, Africa and Asia Pacific.

Reporting in to the Joint Head of the Confederation of Meningitis Organisations, the core purpose of this role is to provide membership marketing support to the team as we continue to grow our network. This is a great opportunity to develop a career within the not-for-profit sector

Responsibilities

  • Create written content for a range of channels including mail, social media and web.
  • Develop content that helps members to raise awareness and advocate for meningitis.
  • Carry out global research into new member prospects.
  • Develop email marketing campaigns to reach multiple target audiences.
  • Ensure all member data is accurate and create data lists for email campaigns.
  • Support building monthly newsletters including photo editing.
  • Develop member journeys using email automation systems.
  • Marketing assistance at annual member conference and World Meningitis Day.
  • Create social media assets, posts and social media schedules.
  • Process new membership applications and upload member web profile.
  • Develop marketing systems to streamline processes.
  • Regional coordinator support and administration - this may include expenses, travel arrangements, VISA support, and responding to enquiries.
  • Minute/note taking at monthly team calls and advisory council quarterly meetings.
  • Governance support and administration for CoMO advisory council meetings.

About you

  • Educated to degree-level with 3+ years’ marketing work experience.
  • Creating content for a range of channels including email, social media and web.
  • Experience of video marketing would be ideal, but not essential.
  • General administration experience in a busy office environment.
  • Good, all-round IT skills.
  • Confident and enthusiastic, with the ability able to use own initiative.
  • Experience working quickly and efficiently under pressure.
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical, writing, and proof-reading skills.
  • Experience working with international partners would be desirable, including multiple cultures, time zones and currencies.
  • Languages, especially Portuguese, French and Spanish desirable, but not essential.
