A new and exciting opportunity has arisen for a Production Manager to join a UK known manufacturer in the Somerset Area!
With no day ever being the same the Production Manager role offers genuine long-term progression and career development within a first-class organisation.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Lead the manufacturing functions on site to meet customers requirements
- Responsible for understanding the qualities of materials and machinery across the site ensuring smooth running whilst driving the implementation of lean working methods
- Managing a team of engineers - appraisals / 1 to 1s / disciplinaries etc
- Conduct risk assessments of processes and tasks
- Production planning and cost reporting
- Help to implement and manage continuous improvement and modern manufacturing principles
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
- Experience working in a plastic or rubber moulding environment - experience with silicone and polyurethane highly desirable
- Experience and knowledge working with ERP systems
- Understanding of APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning, Kaizen and Lean manufacturing
- Strong man management experience
- Good understanding of ISO9001, ISO 12001 and IOSH/NEBOSH
- Relevant manufacturing/engineering degree educated
