Ascend Medical is currently recruiting for Pharmacists in the South West Region that would be interested in joining our growing team of Healthcare Professionals.

Pharmacists need to have extensive knowledge of how drugs interact with one another and the risks in various types of patients. Your main duties would include:

  • Preparing and checking medication prescribed to the patient
  • Identifying potential interactions between drugs and providing information to the patient
  • Ordering stock and ensuring that it is kept in appropriate conditions
  • Maintaining accurate and detailed records of all medication processed through the pharmacy
  • Offering advice on dosages, side effects and other aspects of drug interaction
  • Delivering community healthcare services such as prescription collection and delivery
  • Offering screening programmes for common ailments such as diabetes, high blood pressure and high cholesterol
  • Recruiting, hiring and training staff including overseeing Trainee Pharmacists and Pharmacy Assistants
  • Working with the pharmaceutical staff to maintain a clean, customer-friendly workplace
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Masters degree accredited by GPhC
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • High-level customer service knowledge
  • Computer skills including using specialist software
  • Strong numerical and mathematical skills
  • Diplomacy, discretion and the ability to manage sensitive situations effectively
  • Good problem-solving ability
  • Strong leadership and management skills
