Avionic Braking and Steering Control Systems Engineer

  • Contract: Initial 6-month contract
  • Location: Hybrid working from Bristol
  • Rate: Up to 60 per hour


Key Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in aerospace systems or landing gear
  • Strong understanding of processes and requirements (V&V)
  • Experience in systems equipment design or investigation
  • Proactive and committed approach to work
  • Stakeholder management experience, including subcontractor management (desirable)
  • Test result analysis experience (beneficial)
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a cross-functional team


Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Engineering team to develop technical solutions
  • Ensure Design Review deliverables meet certification requirements
  • Implement best practices and apply lessons learned from previous programs
  • Support V&V planning throughout the design lifecycle
  • Investigate and resolve in-service technical issues, producing relevant documentation
  • Effectively manage stakeholders and communicate project updates
  • Identify and mitigate risks, while leveraging opportunities for improvement
  • Support digital transformation initiatives to enhance operational reliability
  • Clearly and effectively communicate with team members and external partners


Essential Skills:

  • 5-10 years of experience in Landing Gear Systems Engineering
  • Ability to manage short-term service queries and long-term technical investigations
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a pragmatic and technical approach
  • Experience mentoring junior engineers
  • Ability to manage subcontractors when required
