Avionic Braking and Steering Control Systems Engineer
- Contract: Initial 6-month contract
- Location: Hybrid working from Bristol
- Rate: Up to 60 per hour
Key Skills & Experience:
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in aerospace systems or landing gear
- Strong understanding of processes and requirements (V&V)
- Experience in systems equipment design or investigation
- Proactive and committed approach to work
- Stakeholder management experience, including subcontractor management (desirable)
- Test result analysis experience (beneficial)
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a cross-functional team
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Engineering team to develop technical solutions
- Ensure Design Review deliverables meet certification requirements
- Implement best practices and apply lessons learned from previous programs
- Support V&V planning throughout the design lifecycle
- Investigate and resolve in-service technical issues, producing relevant documentation
- Effectively manage stakeholders and communicate project updates
- Identify and mitigate risks, while leveraging opportunities for improvement
- Support digital transformation initiatives to enhance operational reliability
- Clearly and effectively communicate with team members and external partners
Essential Skills:
- 5-10 years of experience in Landing Gear Systems Engineering
- Ability to manage short-term service queries and long-term technical investigations
- Strong problem-solving skills with a pragmatic and technical approach
- Experience mentoring junior engineers
- Ability to manage subcontractors when required
